Summary:The electric connector arrangement (2) has a first connector (4) which has terminals (10) with plug type contact regions (12). A second connector (6) is connectable to the first (4). The second connector has terminals with socket type contact regions (18). The latter have at least one spring arm (30) with a contact surface (38) which can be bent back under spring force on the plug contacts (12) of the first connector (4). The first connector is an insulating housing (4) from which separating projections (44) extend. The latter are arranged along the plug contact region (12). The spring arm (30) of the complementary socket contact has a separating extension (40). This extends from the spring arm in a direction transverse to the coupling direction of the connector. The separating extension is arranged to engage the separating projection (44) when the parts are coupled so that the contact surface of the socket contact (18) is biased away from the plug contact (12). The profile of the separating projections (44) is such that an inward biasing of the socket contact against the plug contact is possible when the connectors are fully coupled together.
