Summary: | A car has a gearbox and a device to control an automatic clutch in the drive train. It has an operating unit controlled by the control unit for adjusting the torque transmitted by the clutch. The control unit is connected to sensors and other electronic units through wires and/or a databus. The control unit calculates or determines the clutch slip in the region of the clutch friction linings and by means of the slip and the torque transmitted by the clutch, determines the energy input to the friction linings and/or their increase in temperature and/or their increased wear. With an increased energy input, temperature rise or increased wear in comparison to a threshold, the control unit controls the clutch torque transmitted independently of the energy input for a first time period and then for a second time period, controls it in time-varying fashion, eg pulsating. Then in a third time period, it increases the torque until the engine speed reaches a threshold, or until the period has elapsed. |
