Summary: | The brake has a brake carrier, a floating caliper, two brake lining carriers and a linearly movable electromechanical actuator unit, e.g. an electric motor, mounted in the caliper which acts as the control drive for at least one brake lining carrier. The actuator unit's housing (1) is attached at one end to rotate with a brake lining carrier (2). A spindle (3) protrudes out of the other end of the housing and the caliper (4) acts as the thrust block (5) for the spindle. An Independent claim is also included for the application of the concept to other types of brakes. |
