Summary: | The operating system is for a ventilator flap (10) in the passenger compartment of a motor vehicle. The hand control is connected with a driving gear sector (20), pivoted on a first shaft (22) and fitted with a first rigidly mounted elongated lever (26). A pin (28) on the end of the lever engages in a cam slot (30) in a second lever (32) rigidly mounted on a gearwheel (24) rotating on a second shaft (14). The ventilator flap is rigidly fastened to this gearwheel. When the flap is open, the two sets of gear teeth are in mesh and the two levers are in line and are inoperative. As the flap is swung closed against the pressure of the flowing air, (A) the two levers move to an effective position at right-angles to each other, and the teeth on the gear sector are out of mesh with each other. |
