Summary:Translucent apatite glass ceramic contains 45.0-70.0 wt.% silica (SiO2), 5.0-22.0 wt.% alumina (Al2O3), 0.5-6.5 wt.% phosphorus pentoxide (P2O5), 3.0-8.5 wt.% potassium oxide (K2O), 4.0-13.0 wt.% sodium oxide (Na2O), 1.5-11.0 wt.% calcium oxide (CaO) and 0.1-2.5 wt.% fluoride (F) and the main crystal phase is formed by apatite crystals. Also claimed are (a) a method of producing the glass ceramic; and (b) dental material and moulded dental products containing the glass ceramic.
