Summary: | The pneumatic actuating system (10) is for a friction clutch, especially in a utility vehicle. The clutch is accommodated in a bell-housing (12) between the internal combustion engine and the change-speed gearbox. The clutch assembly incorporates a clutch release bearing (32) which is connected to an actuator cylinder (14). This cylinder surrounds the drive input shaft (28) and has an annular working chamber (16) containing a coil spring under pressure. The annular piston (22) has seals (26) on its inner diameter and its outer diameter and presses against the outer race of the clutch withdrawal bearing. Air is brought through first a line (50) from a compressed-air source (51) to a control valve (70) which is connected via a second line (56) to a signal generator (60) in direct connection with the clutch pedal (62). |
