Summary:The transport device removes the top card from a card stack and deposits it on the scanning surface of the flat bed scanner (13), for scanning the underside of the card, before its transfer to a second card stack. The transport device uses an axial fan (12) with a vertical fan axis, providing a suction force for holding the surface of the handled card. The suction opening of the axial fan has a cross-sectional area which is at least 20 % of the area of the card surface.
