Damping arrangement of vibrating masses compensated by piezoelectric actuator for vehicle

The damper comprises a device (9) installed between the bodywork (11) of a vehicle and a road wheel (13) with movable axle components. Shocks are absorbed by a spring (15) surrounding a cylinder (35) in which a piston rod (37) is axially movable. The actuator (3) inserted between the cylinder and th...

Summary:The damper comprises a device (9) installed between the bodywork (11) of a vehicle and a road wheel (13) with movable axle components. Shocks are absorbed by a spring (15) surrounding a cylinder (35) in which a piston rod (37) is axially movable. The actuator (3) inserted between the cylinder and the wheel has a number of piezoelectric elements (7) and a vibration detector (29) connected to a regulator which sets the adjustment voltage for them. One of the compensating piezoelectric elements may be used as the detector of vibration.
