Summary: | The method involves placing a test object in a test chamber and pressurising the object with a test gas. The test gas is distinguishable from the atmosphere and naturally occurring only in very low concentrations of preferably less than 100 ppb. The test gas escapes into the chamber at any leakage points. The escaping gas is preferably uniformly mixed with the air in the chamber by convection, and its measured concentration is used to determine the size of the leak in the test object. |
