Alloy catalyst for oxidising impurities in acidic waste water
A catalyst to oxidise impurities in acid waste water in the presence of hydrogen peroxide and oxygen is claimed, which contains 10-40 wt.% manganese, 10-25 wt.% chromium and 50-70 wt.% iron. The catalyst is prepared by heating the alloy for 0.3 to 3 hours at 300-1200 deg C in an oxygen-containing at...

Summary: | A catalyst to oxidise impurities in acid waste water in the presence of hydrogen peroxide and oxygen is claimed, which contains 10-40 wt.% manganese, 10-25 wt.% chromium and 50-70 wt.% iron. The catalyst is prepared by heating the alloy for 0.3 to 3 hours at 300-1200 deg C in an oxygen-containing atmosphere. Also claimed is a process for oxidising the impurities as above, by bringing the water into contact with the catalyst for 1-60 minutes, with the waste water running through or over the catalyst. |
