Summary:The fixer consists of a cylindrical body (23) carried on two roll tracks (20) at an angle to the horizontal, the body ends fitted with journals (25). The tracks are within slots (21) and are let into a guide housing (5) for the gate (15), the housing being fitted to the wall (1) of the collector basin etc. The housing may be in a U-profile, whose legs (13) carry the two tracks and are fixed to a plate (9) whose thickness exceeds that of the gate itself. The gate may ride in two L-profiles fixed to a plate, and the tracks are on the profiles, or on straps, fixed to these. The plate in this variant has its own opening which can be totally or partly closed off by the gate, and the tracks are at 45-80 deg. to the horizontal. The slots may have an extension (22) at the top with the bottom edge of the extension to run horizontally, or at an opposite angle, to the roll tracks. Thus the raised gate may be held, in place, by the cylinder (23) which can then be raised so journals ride up into their slots, and so free the cylinders to enable the gate to be raised, or lowered, as required.
