Summary: | 1332692 Photographic processes AGFAGEVAERT A G 28 Oct 1970 [6 Nov 1969] 51141/70 Heading G2C A photographic process for producing positive visible images comprises imagewise exposing a layer containing a protein which is inactivated on exposure and which is capable of catalytically decomposing peroxy compounds (i.e. compounds containing an -o-o-group) and treating the exposed layer with a peroxy compound to produce a visible image either physically by formation of vesicles (if a binder is present in the protein layer) or chemically by carrying out the treatment in the presence of a reactant for a colour-forming reaction. Suitable reactants are those disclosed in Specification 1268126. Specified proteins are haemoglobin and haemin and the enzymes catalase and peroxidase. The sensitivity of the layer can be increased by adding (a) substances which split off halogen on exposure e.g. organic halogens as in Specification 957192 and silver halides, (b) compounds which split off cyanide on exposure e.g. iron cyanides and cyanides of triphenyl methanes or (c) electron acceptors e.g. chloranil or tetracyano-p-quinodimethane. |
