Summary: | The motor consists of a housing (6, 7, 22) contg. a rotor (14) with a permanent magnet (15) and a stator (6a, 7a) with a homopolar field and a winding (9) connected to an AC power supply through an electronic interrupter switch and control circuit. The rotor is connected to a shaft (18) with one end extending through an aperture (23) in the housing, and the shaft is able to move axially relative to the rotor between two different working positions in which it projects from the housing by different amts.. The shaft has a spring which tends to push it towards its most extended position, and at least a part of the shaft inside the housing is made from a ferromagnetic material. |
