Summary:The throttle control is operated by a sensor for the throttle pedal position and by a control which monitors the engine speed, rate of change of throttle control etc. to compute optimum control signals for the throttle setting. This uses different filter constants to process the control signals and to achieve different levels of response time. The system has at least two filter constants, to operate below and above a threshold value. Normally two thresholds are used, with three filter constants. The higher threshold involves a faster response ie. a faster change in throttle control setting. The control takes into account the movement of the engine mountings with torque changes.
