Summary:The motor (1,2) has a changeover switch for reversing the armature (10 current direction. A switch (18) in the main current circuit is conducting when in the operating position. The braking device (4-9) operates the switch depending on an operating parameter after actuation of the changeover switch (11-16). The braking device operates the switch approximately at the time when the armature is at rest and has a timing element (6-8) for a predefined delay time for operating the switch. The timing element is a series circuit contg. a resistance (6) and a capacitor (8), the resistance being a potentiometer.
