Summary:Quinonyl-bis-thioacetic acid amides New cpds. have a p-quinone structure carrying substituents R1 and R2 in the 1- and 2-positions and substituent -S-CH2CONR3R4 in the 3- and 4-positions wherein R1 and R2 are same or different alkyl, alkoxy, opt. substd. phenyl or phenoxy residue or R1 and R2 together can be constituents of a 5-7 membered ring, and R3 and R4 are same or different residue as H, aliphatic, opt. substd. araliphatic or 5-7 membered residue bound via an aliphatic bridge or R3 and R4 together can be constituents of a heterocyclic ring. Useful as stabilisers for photographic emulsions.
