Transistors 10, 12 are connected as a differential amplifier an input signal being applied to the base of 10 at e in and to the base of 12 via transistor 14 and resistor 28. The transistors 12 and 14 form a degenerate feedback loop and ensure adequate gain from a circuit without decoupling capacitors which have been left out in order to facilitate manufacture by I.C. technique. An inverted output, e 0 , is obtainable at the collector of 10 and in Fig. 1 (not shown), also an in-phase output (e 0 1) at the collector of 12.
