Summary:1,267,253. Pesticides in admixture. FARBWERKE HOECHST A.G. 14 Aug., 1969 [14 Aug., 1968], No. 40681/69. Heading ASE. A pesticidal preparation comprises (1) 4,6- dinitro - 2 - secondary - butylphenyl dimethylacrylate, 4,6 - dinitro - 2 - secondary - butylphenyl stearate, or 4,6 - dinitro - 2 - secondary - butylphenyl isopropyl carbonate in admixture with (2) 2,4,5,4' - tetrachlorodiphenyl sulphide or 2,4,5,4' - tetrachlorodiphenyl sulphone. The ratio of ingredient (1) to ingredient (2) is preferably 3-7 parts by weight of (1) to 1 part by weight of (2). The pesticidal preparations are advantageously used in the form of a wettable powder containing one or more wetting agents, adhesives, dispersing agents, grinding auxiliaries and solid carrier materials or an emulsifiable concentrate containing one or more additives selected from wetting agents, adhesives, dispersing agents and inert liquids. Preferred wettable powders comprise 10-80% by weight of the active ingredients (1) and (2), 3-10% by weight of the wetting agent and/or dispersing agent the balance being solid inert carrier materials whilst a preferred emulsifiable concentrate comprises 10-70% by weight of the mixture of active ingredients (1) and (2), 5-15% by weight of an additive the balance being an organic solvent. The preparation is particularly effective against spider mites and mildew.
