Summary:1,169,456. Electrode materials. TESLA NARODNI PODNIK. Jan.11, 1967 [Aug. 17, 1966] No. 1545/67. Heading C7A. [Also in Division H1] The active members of a grid, e.g. for short wave power tubes, are made from a non-metallic material comprising at least one carbide of a metal of the Groups IVb, Vb or VIb of the periodic system of elements defined in the book "Lehrbuch der anorganischen Chemie" (Textbook of inorganic Chemistry) by H. Remi, e.g. molybdenum or tungsten, consisting of originally added graphite which is chemically bound in with the metal to form a carbide and a surplus amount of free graphite which is regularly dispersed throughout the entire body of the carbide. The excess graphite may comprise between 0À3 and 40% by weight of the graphite bound in the carbide. An electro-plated layer of rhodium, gold or nickel or combinations thereof may be provided at the ends of the rodshaped active grid members to facilitate their soldering to supports.
