Summary: | 1,186,456. Photo-electric exposure meter. MINOLTA CAMERA K.K. Nov. 13, 1967 [Dec.24, 1966], No.51624/67. Heading G1A. [Also in Division G2] In a photo-electric exposure meter a meter movement is replaced by two lamp bulbs, one energized by a source and other energized by the source but regulated also by the incident light, and means functionally associated with a scale plate are provided to adjust a resistor in the detector circuit and/or the incident light to bring the lamps to equal luminosity. Numerous transistor circuits for photo-conductors, photo-voltaic devices and photo-transistors are exemplified including temperature compensating and sensitivity modifying arrangements. In an exposure meter Fig.4 the illumination of a light diffusing plate 41 by bulbs 3 and 8 is viewed through a lens 40 and the amount of light incident on photo-cell 10 through aperture 45 and mirror 46 is adjusted by turning shaft 40 by a ring 31. Film speed may be set into a central dial carrying f numbers and EV value is indicated. A camera including such a meter in which the meter and camera apertures are coupled and a variable resistor in the detector circuit is associated with the shutter speed control is described with reference to Fig. 2 (not shown) and in a practical embodiment, Figs. 5 and 6 (not shown), the camera has an iris regulating ring with a coaxial gear coaxial with a light meter iris, and the shutter speed control which is also a ring rotates a potentiometer wiper through gearing. An opal glass on the back of the camera, is divided by a sawtooth line and serves as the lamp comparison screen. |
