Summary:1,113,681. Tractor power lift mechanisms. MASSEY-FERGUSON Inc: 3 June, 1965 [9 June, 1964], No. 23677/65. Heading A1P. A tractor power lift mechanism having a manual draft control lever 73 is characterized by a control 92 which is operable independently of the lever 73 to select the range of draft controlled by this lever. Signals originating from the movement of an attached implement are transmitted via the upper link 16 to a leaf spring 23 having a rod 50 engaging a cam surface 49 associated with the control 92. Lever 46 is thus pivoted about a fulcrum roller 80 to operate at linkage and move a link 61 having a one-way connection with a lever 36 operating the control valve 35. A lever 63 connected to link 61 is movable by a cam 71 connected to the manual lever 73. The control 92 is rotatable to move the rod 94 and thus the cam 49 longitudinally in order to vary the effective spacing between rod 50 and roller 48 on lever 46 to alter the range of draft force regulated by the lever 73. The sensitivity of the draft control is variable by movement of the fulcrum 80 for the lever 46 whereby movements of the upper link 16 affect movements of the valve-controlling linkage to a greater or lesser extent. This fulcrum roller is moved by a manual lever 84. The valve-controlling linkage includes three-armed lever 58 having an arm 58a arranged to engage an adjustable stop 76 when the mechanism is moved to the transport position, whereby the linkage is locked against movement by the draft control arrangement.
