Summary: | 1,189,388. Magnifying lenses. CARL ZEISS-STIFTUNG [trading as CARL ZEISS]. July 5, 1968 [July 6, 1967], No.32084/68. Heading G2J. In a binocular loupe in which a pair of rings (4, 5) Fig.1 (not shown) are rigidly secured to a spectacle frame each ring such as 4, Fig.4, adjustably supports a magnifying lens system 10, 11, so that the direction of its optical axis is variable within a predetermined angle. As shown the lens system 10, 11, is housed within a mount 12 which is rotatable within the ring 4, a locking screw 20 being provided. Either the axis of mount 12 and thus of lenses 10, 11 is slightly off-set from the axis of rotation, or the lens 10 has a prismatic component to off-set the optical axis. Additional lenses for changing the magnification may be placed in front of the magnifying lens system 10, 11, one, at least, 19, being prismatic and rotatably mounted to correct for the changed working distance. As shown each ring is secured to an ophthalmic lens, such as 2 of the spectacles. |
