Summary: | 768,982. Glass bending moulds. PITTSBURGH PLATE GLASS CO. May 5,1955 [June 21, 1954], No. 13057/55. Class 56 Relates to glass bending moulds particularly for vehicle windscreens having curves of varying radius and portions curved in different planes, and consists in the provision of heat-absorbing means in the region where a differential application of heat is desired. Several forms are described; in that shown in Fig. 5 for example, the absorbing means 60 comprise metal plates 62, 64, 66, 68 of decreasing area mounted in echelon within the pivoted end members 36 of a three-part skeleton mould. In Fig. 9 a plate 80 which remains stationary is connected to the cross-bar 83 of the stationary part 32 of the mould. In another form a plate similar to the plate 80 is pivoted within the pivoted end portion 36 and is constrained to move with that member. In another form, Fig. 7, the heat-absorbing member comprises a wedge 70. |
