New bisarylbisphosphine compounds are of formula (I): [Image] B : -(CHR 1>) n-((R 2>)C=C(R 3>))-(CHR 4>) m or -(CHR 1>) n-((R 2>)C=C(R 3>)) m-(CHR 4>) o; R 1>-R 4>H or alkyl; R', R'' : alkyl or aryl; n, m : 0-8; m+n+o : 1-8, preferably 3-4; G : H or Cl Independent claims are included for: (1) compounds of formula (IV); (2) the preparation of compounds of formula (IV) by reaction of a compound of formula (III) with a compound of formula X 3>-(CHR 1>) n - (R 2>C=CHR 3>) (VIa) or X 4> - (CHR 4>) m - (R 3>C=CHR 6>) (VIb) or successively with two different compounds of formula (VIa) and (VIb) to form a compound of formula (VII) followed by transformation of the compounds of formula (VII) to the compounds of formula (IV) in the presence of an olefin metathesis catalyst; (3) transition metal complexes (II) containing the compounds (I); (4) catalysts containing the complexes (II); (5) a process for the production of enantiomer enriched compounds in the presence of said catalysts; (6) compounds of formula (VII). [Image] [Image] X 3>, X 4>Cl, Br, I or sulfonate.
