The connection between a pipe (1) and a socket (12) comprises a ring (9) on the pipe end which fits against the inner wall of the socket. Two-armed levers (7) attached to a flexible ring (8) behind the first ring are depressed by springs (10) in the socket to lock the pipe in place.
