Schutzabdeckung (1) für einen Plastifizierzylinder (2) einer Formgebungsmaschine, mit einem durch wenigstens eine Wand (3a, 3b, 3c) umschlossenen, längserstreckten Innenraum (4), in welchem der Plastifizierzylinder (2) anordenbar ist, wobei ein Klemmkasten (5) für am Plastifizierzylinder (2) angeordnete Heizbänder (6) in den Innenraum (4) hineinragt und eine der Wände (3a, 3b, 3c) der Schutzabdeckung (1) eine durch einen öffenbaren Deckel (7) verschlossene Öffnung (8) aufweist, die im geöffneten Zustand den Zugriff auf den Klemmkasten (5) oder das Innere des Klemmkastens (5) gestattet.
