Summary:The invention relates to a cage (1, 1') for a tapered roller bearing, having a side ring (2) with a greater diameter and a side ring (3) with a smaller diameter, which side rings (2, 3) are connected fixedly by means of conically running webs (4) which extend axially between the two side rings (2, 3), wherein the two side rings (2, 3) and in each case two immediately adjoining webs (4) form a pocket (5) for receiving a tapered roller. In order to configure said cage for a tapered roller bearing, in particular for a large-size tapered roller bearing, in such a way that a plurality of cages (1, 1') can be stacked axially inside one another, it is provided that the webs (4) in each case have a cut-out (8) radially on the inside in the region of the side ring (2) with a greater diameter, which cut-outs (8) extend radially and axially, that the cage (1, 1') has an internal diameter (D3) in the region of the side ring (2) with a greater diameter at the location of the cut-outs (9), which internal diameter (D3) is greater than the external diameter (D2) of the side ring (3) with a smaller diameter, and that the cage (1, 1') has an internal diameter (D1) at the location of the axially deepest extent of the cut-outs (8) in the webs (4), which internal diameter (D1) is as great as or is slightly greater than the external diameter (D2) of the side ring (3) with a smaller diameter.
