Summary:Applying hydraulic fluid on a printing substrate, comprises applying a water-based or solvent-based hydraulic fluid either on an intermediate carrier (2) or directly to the printing substrate using one or more inkjet heads (16a-e), and heating the hydraulic fluid and evaporating amount of water or solvent content in the hydraulic fluid, where wet air arising under inkjet heads and solvent-containing air arising in close proximity to the inkjet heads are replaced by dry air. An independent claim is included for a device for carrying out the above method, comprising a squeegee (30a-e), by which flow of the wet air or solvent-containing air is interrupted to the intermediate carrier or the printing substrate.
