The method involves providing images (B1, WB) with resolution. The images are co-registered and second resolution is higher than the first resolution. A resulting image (RB1) is determined by selecting pixel of the image (B1) and an average of the intensity values of subset of the corresponding pixels of the image (WB) and a portion of an intensity value of the pixel of the image (B1) is normalized. The image (WB) is segmented into objects. One scale factor is determined based on the object pixel of the image. An independent claim is included for an apparatus for improving an image resolution of image. Verfahren und Vorrichtung zur Verbesserung einer Bildauflösung eines ersten Bildes (B1), wobei das erste Bild (B1) eine erste Auflösung aufweist, wobei ein weiteres Bild (WB) mit einer weiteren Auflösung bereitgestellt wird, wobei das erste und das weitere Bild (B1, WB) koregistriert sind, wobei die weitere Auflösung höher als die erste Auflösung ist, wobei ein resultierendes Bild (RB1) bestimmt wird, indem für mindestens einen Bildpunkt des ersten Bildes (B1) ein Mittelwert der Intensitätswerte zumindest einer Teilmenge der korrespondierenden Bildpunkte des weiteren Bildes (WB) auf zumindest einen Anteil eines Intensitätswertes des Bildpunktes des ersten Bildes (B1) normiert wird.
