Summary:The adaptive X-ray filter (1) has an electrically deformable position element which changes the layer thickness of the X-ray radiation absorbing liquid at the location of the position element by displacing the X-ray radiation absorbing liquid. The position element is arranged in a plane vertical to X-ray radiation (2). A flexible diaphragm portion is provided to separate the radiation absorbing liquid from the position element. The position element is provided with an electro-active polymer portion. An independent claim is included for a method for altering local intensity of X-ray radiation with adaptive X-ray filter.
