Summary: | The circuit has a voltage converter (110) i.e. direct current (DC) static converter, converting high voltage (220) i.e. counter contact voltage, of a high voltage intermediate circuit into load voltage (222) in an operating mode, where the load voltage is lesser than the high voltage. The voltage converter reduces the high voltage in the operating mode to discharge the high voltage intermediate circuit. A control device (232) is formed to increase power dissipation of the voltage converter responding to discharge of the high voltage intermediate circuit. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a high voltage system for a vehicle (2) a method for discharging a high voltage intermediate circuit for a high voltage system of a vehicle.
