Producing comb polymers comprises (a) providing polyols as backbone, (b) partially reacting the polyol with an amino group-containing compound, an ammonium group-containing compound, a carboxyl group-containing compound, a sulfonyl group-containing compound, a sulfonic acid group-containing compound and/or a phosphate group-containing compound to form negatively charged and/or positively charged side chains, and (c) reacting the polyols, provided with negatively charged and/or positively charged side-chains, with hydroxycarboxylic acids and/or its esters to form hydrophobic side-chain, where the hydroxycarboxylic acids are present as monomers, dimers, oligomers and/or polymers, and the step (c) takes place in the form of a solution polymerization. Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Herstellung eines Kammpolymers, umfassend das Bereitstellen eines Polyols als Rückgrat, das zumindest teilweise Umsetzen des Polyols mit einer Aminogruppen-haltigen Verbindung, einer Ammoniumgruppen-haltigen Verbindung, einer Carboxygruppen-haltigen Verbindung, einer Sulfonylgruppen-haltigen Verbindung, einer Sulfonsäuregruppen-haltigen Verbindung, einer Phosphatgruppen-haltigen Verbindung oder Gemischen davon, um negativ geladene und/oder positiv geladene Seitenketten zu bilden, und das Umsetzen des mit negativ geladenen und/oder positiv geladenen Seitenketten versehenen Polyols mit Hydroxycarbonsäuren und/oder deren Estern in Form einer Lösungspolymerisation, um hydrophobe Seitenketten zu bilden. Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft ferner ein durch dieses Verfahren erhältliches Kammpolymer sowie kolloidale Nanopartikel, die dieses Kammpolymer enthalten.
