Summary:The device has a seat belt strap provided with a buckle tongue that is inserted into a belt buckle (1) and fastened to an attachment point (4) of a vehicle structure or a seat. A force limiting unit (2) for limiting force (Fz) acting on the strap is arranged on a side of the point and formed in a deflection-free manner, where the side of the point faces the buckle. The limiting unit is formed from braking devices (H) i.e. compression or expansion pipes (2.1, 2.2), where pulling elements (Z) e.g. wire ropes (3.1, 3.2) and flat broad strips, are guided in the braking devices. Die Erfindung betrifft eine Sicherheitsgurtvorrichtung für ein Fahrzeug, umfassend ein zur Insassensicherung vorgesehenes Gurtband mit einer Gurtschlosszunge, welche in ein an einem Anbindungspunkt (4gtes Gurtschloss (1) einsteckbar ist, und eine Kraftbegrenzungseinheit (2) zur Begrenzung einer im Gurtband wirkenden Zugkraft (Fz). Erfindungsgemäß ist die Kraftbegrenzungseinheit (2) auf der vom Gurtschloss (1) abgewandten Seite des Anbindungspunktes (4) angeordnet und umlenkfrei ausgebildet.
