Summary: | The method involves determining whether the internal combustion engine (12) is separated from a power train (14) and determining the current speed of the vehicle (10). The fictitious engine speed is determined from the current speed. The fictitious fuel consumption is determined from the fictitious engine speed as saved fuel consumption. The current gear selection and a corresponding gear transmission ratio of a gearbox (16) of a vehicle are determined. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a controller for a vehicle for executing the method; (2) a computer program for executing the method; (3) a computer readable medium; and (4) a vehicle with a clutch.
