Solar radiation receiver for use in tower of concentrating solar system for e.g. transferring solar energy to heat carrier medium for generation of electricity, has windscreen guiding hot air, which does not penetrate via aperture

The receiver has a lateral and upward closed cavity (14) provided under an aperture (13), via which an external reflector sends solar energy into the cavity. A funnel shaped windscreen (15) extends downward and protrudes from the aperture. The windscreen catches the raising hot air and guides the ho...

Summary:The receiver has a lateral and upward closed cavity (14) provided under an aperture (13), via which an external reflector sends solar energy into the cavity. A funnel shaped windscreen (15) extends downward and protrudes from the aperture. The windscreen catches the raising hot air and guides the hot air into the cavity such that the hot air remains in the cavity to prevent penetration of hot air via aperture. The cavity is designed as a pipe system and an open volumetric receiver and has a guide structure that is provided at a circumferential wall (11).
