The combustion engine (1) has a coolant circuit and a lubricant circuit having a lubricant conduit (3), which transports lubricant (9) to the necessary lubricating point of the combustion engine. The coolant circuit has a coolant conduit (2). A partial section of the lubricant circuit flows around a part of the circumference of a coolant (8) of the coolant circuit. Die Erfindung betrifft einen Verbrennungsmotor, der zumindest einen Kühlmittelkreislauf und zumindest einen Schmiermittelkreislauf aufweist, wobei der Schmiermittelkreislauf zumindest eine Schmiermittelleitung (3) aufweist, welche Schmiermittel (9) zu erforderlichen Schmierstellen des Verbrennungsmotors transportiert, und wobei der Kühlmittelkreislauf zumindest eine Kühlmittelleitung (2) aufweist. Um verbesserte Warmlaufeigenschaften des Verbrennungsmotors zu erreichen, wird vorgeschlagen, dass zumindest ein Teilabschnitt des Schmiermittelkreislaufs zumindest teilumfänglich von einem Kühlmittel (8) des Kühlmittelkreislaufs umströmt ist.
