Summary: | Polyurethane prepolymer comprises: (a) alkylene oxide-ether units; and (b) structural units comprising substituted cyclopentanone derivative (I). Polyurethane prepolymer comprises: (a) alkylene oxide-ether units; and (b) structural units comprising substituted cyclopentanone derivative of formula (I). X : electron withdrawing group; R 1>, R 2>H, optionally saturated aliphatic or cycloaliphatic or optionally substituted aromatic or araliphatic, where R 1>, R 2>contains up to 12C, optionally comprises upto 3 heteroatoms comprising O, S or N and which is optionally substituted by halo; and n : 0-5. Independent claims are also included for: (1) preparation of polyurethane prepolymer; (2) a prepolyol, based on polyisocyanate prepolymer, where isocyanate prepolymer is reacted with amino- and hydroxy functional components, preferably aminoethanol, methylaminoethanol, bis(aminoethanol) or bis hydroxymethyl amine to form terminal hydroxylated products; (3) a reactive system comprising (i) at least one polyurethane prepolymer, (ii) at least one organic compound with at least 2 primary amino groups, (iii) optionally at least one oxirane group exhibiting compound having an average oxirane functionality of greater than 1, and (iv) optionally catalysts and/or additives and (v) optionally products of reaction of (i) to (iv) with each other; (4) producing the reactive system comprising mixing (i) to (iv) in any order; and (5) a substrate coated with the coating obtained from the reactive system.
