Summary:The engine (1) has an exhaust-gas turbocharger (2) and a charge air cooler (3) arranged between the exhaust-gas turbocharger and the engine for reducing temperature of charge air that is supplied to the engine. A bypass channel (9) is bypassed to the charge air cooler, and a valve device (10) influences the charge air flow into the bypass channel. A control and/or regulating device (11) is arranged to control/regulate the charge air flow that flows through the bypass channel, where the engine is worked according to controlled auto ignition process.
