Summary:The method involves receiving a pitch rate signal (100) over an interface, where the pitch rate signal exhibits information related to pitch rate of a vehicle. An evaluation value (104a) is determined from a temporary lapse of the pitch rate signal based on determined instruction, where the instruction adjusts the evaluation value to a value when the temporary lapse exhibits a lapse that is typical for collision of the vehicle. An adjusting signal is provided depending on the evaluation value, where the adjusting signal is suitable for adjusting release behavior of a restraining unit. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a controller comprising a device for receiving a pitch rate signal over an interface (2) a computer program product with program code stored in a machine-readable carrier for executing a method for adjusting a release behavior of a restraining unit of a vehicle. Es wird ein Verfahren zum Einstellen eines Auslöseverhaltens eines Rückhaltemittels eines Fahrzeugs vorgeschlagen, das einen Schritt des Empfangens eines Drehratensignals (100) über eine Schnittstelle, wobei das Drehratensignal eine Information über eine Nickrate des Fahrzeugs aufweist, einen Schritt des Bestimmens eines Beurteilungswerts aus einem zeitlichen Verlauf des Drehratensignals gemäß einer Bestimmungsvorschrift und einen Schritt des Bereitstellens eines von dem Beurteilungswert abhängigen Einstellsignals (104a, 104b, 104c) umfasst, wobei das Einstellsignal geeignet ist, um ein Auslöseverhalten des Rückhaltemittels einzustellen.
