Producing rubber latices with a constant gel content for the acrylonitrile butadiene styrene production, comprises adding 0.05-2.5 parts by weight of ascorbic acid or ascorbic acid salts, relative to the 100 parts by weight of solid matter of the rubber latex, to the rubber latices in the form of an aqueous solution after the termination of the polymerization reaction. Gegenstand der Erfindung ist ein Verfahren zur Herstellung von Kautschuklatices mit definiertem Gelgehalt durch Zusatz spezieller Reagenzien nach Beendigung des Polymerisationsschrittes und die Verwendung der erfindungsgemäßen Kautschuklatices zur Herstellung von ABS-Polymerisaten nach dem Verfahren der Emulsionspolymerisation.
