The interior mirror has a housing (12) fixed in an interior space of an automobile, and an enclosure (16) for a mirror plate (18), where the enclosure faces a mirror viewer. A section of the enclosure is formed in a translucent manner, and includes a light guiding device (24) for uncoupling light produced by an illuminant (22) e.g. incandescent lamp or LED. The light produced by the illuminant is uncoupled over the entire length of the section of the enclosure by an optical unit, which is arranged in an inner and/or an outer surface of the light guiding device. Die Erfindung betrifft einen Innenspiegel für einen Kraftwagen, insbesondere einen Personenkraftwagen, mit einem in einem Innenraum des Kraftwagens festlegbaren Gehäuse (12) und mit einer einem Spiegelbetrachter zugewandten Einfassung (16) für eine Spiegelplatte (18), wobei zumindest ein Abschnitt der Einfassung (16) wenigstens begrenzt lichtdurchlässig ausgebildet ist.
