Summary:The cap (100) has an air cap chamber (20) narrowed by an air cap body (10), where a flame jet (50) produced by high velocity oxy-fuel flame spraying is conducted via the chamber. A region (12) of the body facing the chamber is made of a material e.g. brass, copper, or copper-brass alloy, that is thermally resilient than aluminum and have a melting point over 660 degrees Celsius. An inlet (30) supplies a spraying material (40) into the chamber, where a region of the body that is in contact with the spraying material is made of a wear-resistant material e.g. hard metal or silicon carbide. An independent claim is also included for a nozzle with a supplying device for supplying gases in an air cap chamber. Um eine Luftkappe (100; 100') zum Hochgeschwindigkeits-Flammspritzen (H[igh]V[elocity]O[xy-Fuel]F[lame Spraying]), aufweisend mindestens eine durch mindestens einen Luftkappenkörper (10;10') begrenzte Luftkappenkammer (20; 20'), durch die mindestens ein beim Hochgeschwindigkeits-Flammspritzen erzeugter Flammstrahl (50) geleitet wird, so weiterzubilden, dass die Luftkappe (100; 100') auch bei höherer Flammstrahltemperatur, beispielsweise bei einer Flammstrahltemperatur oberhalb von etwa 660°C, nicht schmilzt, wird vorgeschlagen, dass zumindest der der Luftkappenkammer (20; 20') zugewandte Bereich (12; 12') des Lufkappenkörpers (10; 10') im Wesentlichen aus mindestens einem Material ist, das thermisch belastbarer als Aluminium ist.
