Summary: | Production of a leaf spring (25) of fiber composite material involves wetting a fibrous strand (2) containing parallel fibers with molten thermoplastics (14); applying top and bottom covering sheet(s) (3, 4) and combining the strand with the sheet(s) on a convex hotplate (6); cutting the assembly into prepregs (20); stacking prepreg layers (20', 20'', 20''') on a heatable molding press (24) surface; and pressing with specific, material-dependent, temperature-pressure curves. An independent claim is included for a composite leaf spring (25), which consists of (a) several laminated prepreg layers (20', 20'', 20'''), each consisting of a strand (2) containing parallel fibers embedded in thermoplastics and (b) covering sheets (3, 4) of thermoplastics over the top and bottom sides of the strands. The m.pt. of the thermoplastics of the sheets is higher than that of the embedding thermoplastics, which wets all of the fibers of the strand. |
