Summary:Purification of fatty alcohol raw mixture (I) containing greater than 95 wt.% of 18-60C alcohol and 50-98 wt.% of linear fatty alcohol, comprises obtaining fatty alcohol-solid particle from (I), dissolving less than 60 wt.% of fatty alcohol-solid particle in a solvent, filtering and washing the fatty alcohol-solid particle solvent mixture, and extracting the undissolved or partially dissolved fatty alcohol-solid particle to obtain a purified fatty alcohol-fraction with an increased content of linear fatty alcohols. Gegenstand der vorliegenden Erfindung ist ein Verfahren zur Aufreinigung langkettiger überwiegend linearer Fettalkohole durch Lösemittelentölung zur Herstellung hochlinearer Fettalkohole.
