The mounting includes slot couplings (31, 32) to provide a variable pivot point for the visor in the raised position. This ensures that heavy duty visors are comfortably positioned in the raised position and can be rapidly deployed. Die Erfindung betrifft einen Schutzhelm (100) mit einer harten Helmkalotte (20), die einen Oberkopfbereich und Seitenbereiche eines Helmträgers bedeckt und zur Vorderseite einen Sichtausschnitt freilässt, mit einer Innenausstattung und einer den Sichtausschnitt zumindest teilweise abdeckenden, schwenkbar an den Seitenbereichen der Helmkalotte (20) angelenkten Visierscheibe (1). Der Visierscheibe (1) ist eine Visiermechanik (10) zugeordnet, über die die Visierscheibe (1) in zwei Langlochführungen (31, 32; 41, 42) unter Bildung eines veränderlichen Drehpunktes an dem Schutzhelm (100) gelagert ist.
