Use of a combination (A) of at least one quinoid compound (I) and at least one organic compound (II) with free thiol group or at least one inorganic sulfur containing reduction agent (III); or a dye (prepared by the reaction of (I) with (II) or (III) in an agent) for coloring keratinic fibers. Independent claims are also included for: (1) a method for coloring keratin fibers comprising mixing a component (1) comprising (I) and a component (2) comprising (II) or (III) before using, subsequently directly applying the mixture on the keratin fibers and rinsing the fibers with water after a induction period; (2) a method for coloring keratin fibers comprising first applying a component (1) comprising (I) and subsequently applying a component (2) comprising (II) or (III) on the keratin fibers and rinsing the fibers with water after a induction period; (3) a method for coloring keratin fibers comprising first applying a component (1) comprising (II) or (III) and subsequently applying a component (2) comprising (I) on the keratin fibers and rinsing the fibers with water after a induction period; and (4) a method for coloring keratin fibers comprising applying an agent (comprising the dye) on the keratin fibers and rinsing the fibers with water after a induction period. Gegenstand der vorliegenden Anmeldung ist die Verwendung einer Kombination aus (i) mindestens einer chinoiden Verbindung und (ii) mindestens einer organischen Verbindung mit freier SH-Gruppe oder mindestens einem anorganischen schwefelhaltigen Reduktionsmittel zur Färbung keratinischer Fasern sowie ein Verfahren zur Färbung von Keratinfasern unter Verwendung einer Kombination aus (i) mindestens einer chinoiden Verbidung und (ii) mindestens einer organischen Verbindung mit freier SH-Gruppe oder mindestens einem anorganischen schwefelhaltigen Reduktionsmittel beziehungsweise deren Reaktionsprodukte.
