The method for the controlling of processes in internal combustion engines entails calculating a control variable (y) dependent upon at least one first (P1) and one second (P2) parameter. Before a calculating of the control variable a back-calculation of the second parameter starting from at least the first parameter and the control variable takes place in such a way that the same control variable as with the previous stage of calculation is produced. The calculation of the control variable is effected from at least the first parameter and the second parameter gained from the back calculation. An independent claim is included for a device for the controlling of processes in internal combustion engines by means of the proposed method. Es werden ein Verfahren und eine Vorrichtung zur Steuerung von Vorgängen in Brennkraftmaschinen beschrieben, wobei abhängig von wenigstens einem ersten Parameter (P1) und einem zweiten Parameter (P2) eine Steuergröße (y) berechnet wird. Vor einer Berechnung der Steuergröße erfolgt eine Rückrechnung des zweiten Parameters (P2), ausgehend von wenigstens dem ersten Parameter (P1) und der Steuergröße (y), derart, dass sich die gleiche Steuergröße (y) wie beim vorhergehenden Rechenschritt ergibt. Die Berechnung der Steuergröße erfolgt, ausgehend von wenigstens dem ersten Parameter und dem durch die Rückrechnung gewonnenen zweiten Parameter.
