Summary:A process regulates the operation of an automotive piston engine (10) linked via a torque converter (20) to a gearbox (30). A motor operating parameter is set that then reduces the torque change, and effects a time delay in a subsequent increase in torque. Ein Verfahren zur Steuerung einer einen Motor, ein Getriebe und einen zwischen dem Motor und dem Getriebe angeordneten Drehmomentwandler aufweisenden Antriebseinheit eines Fahrzeugs ist dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß wenigstens ein Betriebsparameter des Motors bei Auftreten einer Lastwechseländerung so eingestellt wird, daß eine Größe, die das von dem Motor an den Drehmomentwandler abgegebene Drehmoment charakterisiert, zunächst in der Nähe des Verlustmoments des Motors ist und daraufhin, einem vorgebbaren Drehmoment-Zeit-Verlauf folgend, erhöht wird.
