Summary:The package for a block of foodstuff, e.g. butter or margarine, comprises a sleeve of paper or foil which is wrapped around the block with its overlapping ends on the narrow side. The ends are then folded in. A small side flap (19) is folded down against the end of the block, a trapezium-shaped flap (21) is folded against this, a second side flap (22) is then folded down, followed by a final, trapezium-shaped flap (25). An Independent claim is included for a method for wrapping blocks of foodstuff which produces the package. Bei der Verpackung von als quaderförmiger Block (10) ausgebildeter Butter oder ähnlichen Produkten wird so vorgegangen, dass ein Zuschnitt (11) unter Bildung einer Schlauchfaltung um den Block (10) herumgefaltet wird, wobei eine aus Faltlappen (15, 16) gebildete Überlappung im Bereich einer schmalen Seitenwand (17) positioniert ist. Stirnwände (18) werden durch eine bestimmte Reihenfolge der Faltung von Seitenlappen (19, 22) sowie Längslappen (21, 25) gebildet. Die Faltung ist so gewählt, dass ein leichtes Öffnen der Packung möglich ist.
