A process for adjusting the course of work during the production of sealing seams, comprises measuring the boundary surface temperature at the boundary between the members to be sealed, using a temperature measurement probe. The course of work is adjusted based on the temperature in the boundary area and the heat input during sealing. Time, temperature and pressure are adjusted, and the temperature is monitored to see if the melting point of the seal layer is exceeded. Indications of recrystallisation are monitored and the recrystallisation time is determined.
